WorkCam Update – May 3, 2025: Share Links, Smarter Storage, and More

Today’s update for WorkCam brings powerful new tools to streamline your workflow and keep your device lean, fast, and organized. Whether you're a solo pro or part of a larger team, this update delivers features designed to make capturing, sharing, and managing work photos easier than ever.

This release introduces two major features: Share Links and a new Storage Optimization setting. Alongside these, we’ve rolled out performance upgrades and a batch of under-the-hood fixes to make your WorkCam experience smoother all around.

Let’s break down what’s new.

📤 Share Links: Share Smarter, Not Harder

One of the most requested features is finally here: Share Links. Now, with just a tap, you can create a secure, shareable link to any photo or video in your WorkCam library.

Why it matters:

No more downloads – Just send a link.
Fast collaboration – Perfect for contractors, clients, or team members who need quick access.
Access control – Share only what’s needed, nothing more & set your link's expiry date.

Whether you’re out on-site sending progress shots or following up from the office, Share Links make it incredibly easy to distribute visual updates without clogging up inboxes or wasting time exporting files.

To create a Share Link, select the photos and videos you'd like to have shared, tap on the options icon and tap Create Share Link. Once created, your active Share Links will be listed in the Account > Share Links screen.

🔒 Note: Share Links require an active Photo Sync subscription or being part of a team with Photo Sync enabled.

🧠 Smarter Storage: Keep Space Clear, Automatically

If your device is always running out of space, this next feature is for you. WorkCam now includes a Storage Optimization setting that automatically removes local copies of photos and videos after they’ve been securely uploaded.

How it works:

Full-resolution media is uploaded via Photo Sync.
Once safely stored in the cloud, WorkCam can clear it from your device to save space.
Thumbnails remain for quick browsing — tap to re-download any item instantly.

You’re in control. Head to Settings and toggle on Reduce Storage to enable.

This is a huge win for teams working in the field with limited phone space or anyone who’s tired of managing files manually.

🛠️ This feature is also available only with an active Photo Sync subscription or as part of a Photo Sync-enabled team.

⚙️ Performance Improvements & Fixes

Beyond the headline features, we’ve tuned WorkCam under the hood for better speed, stability, and day-to-day usability.

We’ve also fixed minor UI bugs and made background sync more efficient so it works better while you’re on the move.

Who Gets These Features?

To take full advantage of Share Links and Storage Optimization, you'll need:

An active Photo Sync subscription
OR
Membership in a team that has Photo Sync enabled

If you're not sure where you stand, check under Account > Photo Sync in the app to see your current status.
