WorkCam - WorkCam 2.0.19: Dropbox Integration & More!

Update — August 2026: Dropbox is back. Dropbox support was removed for a period after this release while we rebuilt how storage integrations work, and is available again in WorkCam 3.1.8 and later. Two things changed from what this post describes: sync is now one way — WorkCam copies out to Dropbox and no longer imports from it — and the integration is free, so it no longer requires a Photo Sync subscription. iCloud and Google Drive work the same way. This post is kept as a record of the 2.0.19 release; see the Dropbox Sync guide for how it works today.

WorkCam 2.0.19: Dropbox Sync is Here!

We're excited to announce the release of WorkCam version 2.0.19, available today! This update brings one of our most requested features: Dropbox integration. WorkCam users can now seamlessly sync their work photos and albums with Dropbox, ensuring easy access, organization, and backup across devices and teams.

Seamless Dropbox Integration

With WorkCam 2.0.19, you can now link your Dropbox account directly within the app. Once connected, WorkCam will automatically sync your albums and photos with Dropbox, making them instantly available in the cloud.

How It Works

Automatic Sync to Dropbox: Any new photos you take with WorkCam are automatically uploaded to your Dropbox account, neatly organized into your Work Cam Dropbox folder.
Scoped Access for Security: WorkCam only has access to a dedicated Work Cam folder in your Dropbox, ensuring your personal and other business files remain untouched.
Import from Dropbox: You can also enable automatic import, allowing WorkCam to sync new photos and folders from Dropbox into the app, keeping everything in one place.
Sync All or Only Select Albums: Users can choose to sync all WorkCam albums automatically or manually select specific albums they want to sync with Dropbox. This gives you greater control over what gets uploaded to the cloud.

This feature is perfect for business owners, contractors, engineers, and teams who need a secure, cloud-based solution for managing work photos efficiently.

Subscription Requirement

To use Dropbox integration, users will need a Photo Sync subscription in WorkCam. This subscription enables third-party storage integrations, ensuring reliable performance and support for cloud sync features.

Alongside Dropbox integration, we've included stability improvements and a small but handy tweak:

Pinch-to-Zoom in Camera: You can now pinch to zoom while taking photos in WorkCam, making it easier to capture the perfect shot.
Performance & Stability Fixes: Various under-the-hood optimizations to make WorkCam faster and more reliable.

Getting Started with Dropbox Sync

Update WorkCam to version 2.0.19 from the App Store.
Navigate to Account > Storage Providers > Dropbox.
Sign in to Dropbox and grant WorkCam access.
Select which WorkCam albums you'd like to sync with Dropbox or select All Albums and/or Import from Dropbox based on your preference.
Start capturing work photos, and let WorkCam handle the rest!
